Open Question: Redecorating my room?!?
I need some help with this. I am redecorating my room. I want it to be a buttercup yellow. I have a chocolate colored bunk bed, and green carpet. I need suggestions for bedspreads, curtains, rugs, bean bags, picture frames, posters, and other stuff. If you could include a picture or where I can buy them, that would be AMAZING. Also, should I get printed bedspreads or plain ones? Please help me!! moreOpen Question: Late-stage Alzheimer's timeline, personal experiences?
My grandmother has had Alzheimer's for the past 11-12 years. My mother and I think my grandmother is entering the final stages.. she talks infrequently (but still shouts when she's upset), doesn't smile often, wants to go to bed more often and is completely incontinent. She can still eat and walk, but her muscles are weak and a neck pillow is used for head support. I've been her caretaker on and off in the past. My mother is currently the sole caretaker, but it's getting to the point that she can't do it alone. She's a small-framed woman, and not physically capable of lifting and turning my grandma, especially when my grandma is fighting (which she does often). I want to go back to help, the problem is that I live in Norway and my family is in the US. I've lived most of my adult life in Europe , so it's not like I'm here on exchange and can just return to my life in the US. I need to know what sort of timeline is expected in the late stages, so that I can deal with things (like finances, job, school, etc) here before I leave. Doctors haven't been much help, and the internet is very vague. I know it differs a lot from case to case and can turn quickly, but in your personal experience, what happened in the late stages and how long did each part last? I really appreciate anyone that's willing to share, it's not an easy subject. moreOpen Question: What Color Goes with Navy Blue?
Im re-painting my room. My comfortor and sheets for my bed are navy blue and so are my chairs, curtians, picture frames, ect. Would a light gray look nice with it? its a bigg-ish bedroom so it wont dark colors wont make it feel small or anything... Its currently a rusty orange (i picked the color when i was 8 :-P ) and since the lightings kinda poor so its too dark at night. 2 windows so theres pretty much natural light. The shelves and all that stuff are brown wood finish... mostly lighter brown. white carpet. So yeah, im thinkin a cheery gray or somehting....is that good? what shud i pick? moreOpen Question: After all that, and my back still hurts?
Okay. My back has been hurting these last few nights which has lead me to take my mattress pad off, fold it in half and camp on my floor for the rest of the night, that of corse after a fistful of pills. It works enough that I sleep until its time for classes. So yesterday, I disassembled my bed, which was a futon frame, it was starting to fold in the middle causing me to taco in the middle. Which I assumed was the problem. Now bed on floor, bed is actually a curiously heavy futon mattress. With a foam mattress pad. It still curves slightly in the middle, but after the big move and disassemble, I had an amazing nap on it. It seems this back pain only happens at night. Its seldom in my lower back but is in my upper back across my shoulders and down. Also, the dog could be assisting in funny sleep positions, he seems to think that the bed is his. How do I make this better? I would really like to sleep.Thank you for the suggestions - but the option to get a bed is minimal. Unless a) one is donated (aka free) b) its delivered... highly unlikely. I fall under the happy to have a roof over my head, and eat once a day for an expensive college education. I will look into yoga, my mom raves about it. I also do riding, which causes me to fall into a state of unconsciousness after.. which is nice. (breaking in a young horse, lots of up and down. Haven't been thrown yet though) moreResolved Question: wall of mirrors?!?! tacky or cute and original?!?!?
okay, so in my room i have a mini staircase thats leads to a mini loft place where my bed is. i was wondering, if it would look cool if i put a bunch or different mirrors with colored frames on the wall beside the staircase. would that look cool? they would have little gaps between them of coarse and i would make the gaps even if i can. would that look cool? also, do you know where i could get some really cool mirrors with really cool frames? thanks!! <3 moreOpen Question: What is a bed with a headboard, footboard, and frame called?
Hi i'm trying to buy a new frame and headboard/footbaord set. I'm talking about the headboard, what supports the bed underneith and raises it off the ground (frame?) and the footboard. I took my wife out to dinner. It seemed like we had a nice time. We got into the car 10:00 at night on weekday which I had to get up early in the morning. She then wanted to look around at wall mart. Told her I was really tired. When we got close I told it was ok to look around wallmart. She gave me cold shoulder whole ride home and I tried to ask her what was wrong. We got home and I tired to get close and talk to her. I almost broke my wrist in a fall I had earlier in the week. I held her with that hand and she grabbed and twisted my wrist and hit it. It was so painful I grabbed whatever that was on the bed. I threw it on the ground. It was her ipod. which I didn’t mean to throw it. Thanks for your help. moreResolved Question: A GREAT LITTLE SHORT STORY > > >?
Short Story. Looking for opinions...? It was one of those December nights when winter, at the peak of its powers, hurls down its snows and slings its squalls with a special fury. Way up high in the Wicklow Mountains in a grim manor house, an old and lonely man sat by the open window of his dining room gazing at the falling snow and the starlit, wintry sky. Just outside the window stood a row of oak-trees, black on one side, glowing with silver on the other. The bristling wind, defiant trees and wintry sky all seemed to be crying out for something special to celebrate the season. This was how things stood on the 4th of December 1954, the final day in the life of this old man. The grey-haired man was afflicted by a virulent depression he so much feared. For the past week, he lay on his bed at home, seeing no one and going nowhere. Nothing mattered now; nothing ever changed; the sky was dead and absolutely everything in life appeared meaningless. He tediously convinced himself that his life was over and done with, and that all he had to do was eke out his remaining years alive free from worry and any kind of desire. Having contemplated on his entire life for the umpteenth time while starring out his window that night, the pathetic soul mused and consoled himself with the only consolation he could think of, ‘ I needn’t bother with anything new. Soon my life will be over.’ It was ten o’clock by the decrepit man’s watch when he started to feel a little light-headed. He decided that he ought to get some fresh air to clear his headache. He got to his feet, rubbed his eyes, threw on his woolliest coal and headed towards the front door. Upon leaving the old man once more pondered on life before wandering into the velvety darkness outside. Most of the houses had their gates locked and shutters up. The roads and pathways were deserted, and the uplands and copses, which before today had been green islands among the black fields and stubble, had turned into magnificent snow-covered landscapes. The air carried a almost imperceptible smell of smoke. The aged man savoured these surroundings and continued on his unbeknownst route. Now and then he had came across farmers looking all anxious and apprehensive, and each time he passed one of them they gave him a quizzical look. It wasn’t just his thin frame and sallow complexion, or his sombre eyes of suffering; the farmers starred at him because he was old and journeying through harsh weather and terrain. Either way the feeble man ignored them. He suddenly realised he was supposed to be walking on the other side of the road. He heard nothing and saw nothing. Completely absorbed in what lay ahead, he was agonising as men do when attempting the impossible, and thing is impossible not because of any inherent difficulty, but because it requires them to act out of character. He was unwittingly destined to get to the place he was heading for. Even without seeing or hearing anything he was finding his way by instinct, an it was so eerily out of keeping with his entire life thus far. As the old man moved down a hidden pathway and then across some threshing ground and into a field leading to a village, the wind began to die down and the sky looked set to dissolve and melt into the ground. The only movement detectable in the air now was the drifting smoke. The smoke got thicker and thicker with every step the ailing man now took. Tongues of flame twirled up here and there along rooftops in the near distance. He began to sense that something unusual was going on around him, but didn’t realise he was walking towards the fire. He paced slowly along a path across a large open space when he suddenly heard a women nearby crying with despair. He halted and hesitated as if he had woke from a dream, and lifted his head. On the snow-covered grass down one side of the steep path lay piles of household things: clothes, several trunks, books and bed mattresses. There on the ground sat a large women with a long, jarring nose, wearing a fur-coat. She was sobbing and in a state of extreme restlessness and panic, rocking to and fro and breathing heavily. A boy of around ten years, in a filthy, handy-down cloak gawked at his mother with dread written all over his sullen face. The husband, a stumpy little man in overalls, with a noticeable receding hairline, looked on impassively and not fully knowing what to make of his wife. We just bought a house that has baseboard heaters, they don't seem to be working very efficiently so we are looking to replace them. Thus we are wanting to know what it these brand of heater to get? We are also considering changing to a forced air system so any advice there would be appreciated. We have a small (900+sq ft), 2BR, 1BA, with a loft (acts as our 3rd BR), A-frame home. The house seems easy to heat, as we are currently only running 1 base board heater (in one bed room) and a plug in radiate space heater (as the heaters in our LR/DR seem to be the ones that are working extremely inefficiently). We do have a crawl space below the house so we believe that we can easily duct and change the heating system. Chapter One “A nything more, sire?” said the royal chef. King Osmith patted his belly and playfully said “No, no thank-you. You plumped me up well enough. Good job.” “Thank-you, my lord,” said the chef. The chef then turned to Queen Ellen and asked “How about anything for the misses?” “No thank-you, I think I will retire to my quarters as well,” replied the queen. The chef then gathered the dishes and returned to the kitchen. “So dear, what type of fragrance are you wearing?” Osmith said in a light tone. “Oh this perfume…its river orchids, especially made by the royal gardener herself.” Ellen said while sipping her wine from her silver cup. “It is truly hypnotizing, my love,” said the king. “Why don’t we go to our master bedroom and fall in love?” he added. He continued to gaze at her shimmering beauty. “Surely the king must know that I am remaining celibate.” Ellen said with her eyes sharply pointed at the king. “Celibate, do you know how many children we have?” said the king with slight fury. “Yes, that’s why I’m choosing to be celibate.” Ellen said wittingly. Ellen was a beautiful woman. Her black hair came down to her soft and delicate shoulders. Her skin was white and luscious. She also had a small mole on her cheek. Her eyes were a wooden dark-brown and always carried a sense of mystery. Her frame was tall and graceful. What man in the kingdom would not consider her as the most beautiful woman in the world? The king was also no man of foul looks. He had short, tangling, light-orange hair. He was tall and had a muscular built. He had hazel eyes and strong face features. His mustache was thick and his chin was full of hair. The only physical fault this man had was that he was a decade older than Ellen. As they continued to talk the royal advisor came in. “Your highness, I have some very important news I wish to tell you. I would ask that you excuse the misses, please.” The queen’s beautiful face then turned into a face of anger and hatred. But somehow she still managed to speak in her soft and lovely voice. “Well, the kingdom is half mine and whatever the business has to deal with it is more likely to deal with the kingdom and I wish to know what is going on.” They both then turned to the king awaiting his answer. “Let her stay… so what is the matter?” said Osmith. “Well, sire the kingdom of Belzonia has a new king,” said the advisor. “Oh really, who is he?” asked Osmith. “His name is Jebediahas,” said the advisor. “Sounds interesting…” said the king. “Why don’t we meet him? We can give him a royal welcome.” said Ellen. “Go to another king’s kingdom unannounced? That’s just truly preposterous. You also must not know that the king has been feuding with Belzonian Empire for years.” said the advisor in an irritated tone. “Well this could be a new start,” said Ellen. King Osmith didn’t really want to become friends with anyone especially the new king of Belzonia, but he decided to side with his wife. His wife was surely one that could hold a grudge so he didn’t want to make her upset, by not taking her opinion to heed. “Send a letter letting him know that he will be having royal guests tomorrow.” The king said. “Surely my lord, you’re not serious.” The advisor said with slight scare. “I am. Now go.” The king demanded. Meanwhile in the dark and foggy forest, a man that has no human feature but, the outline of a human is standing atop a hill that gives and overview of Snom and Belzonia. It is wearing a black coat with the hood over its head. He is almost like a living shadow of smoke. “Soon enough both of your kingdoms will be mine,” said the deep voice of the mysterious man. He then gave a maniacal laugh that echoed through the forest. Back at the castle of King Osmith, he and his wife were in bed. “I’m so happy for you dear. This is your chance to make it all right with the Belzonian people. My idea was great wasn’t it honey,” said Ellen. “It’s only a great idea if it works my love,” Said King Osmith tiredly. “I’m sure it’ll work.” She said. “What makes you so sure?” he said. “Because I thought of it, that’s why, now good night.” She kissed him on his cheek and fell asleep. “I hope your right…for his sake,” the king said in a mummer. moreVoting Question: folding double bed - folds into a cube?
Hi A year or so ao i saw an advert (early morning shopping site whilst working nights) for a double bed that folds into a cube. it was a bed with legs (not one of those foam types) a metal frame and was apparently really comfortable. I am looking to move house and it would be ideal for the spare room. I cant seem to find it online as i cannot remeber the channel or name for it. Could someone please help?? Thanks moreOpen Question: japanese movie plot...can you help me identify the movie?
About 13 years ago I was flipping through channels and started watching a Japanese(?) movie with English subtitles. Some might call this a "B" movie or low budget film. There was a scene in a hospital/clinic that was revisited several times by several characters, if I remember correctly it was the only constant among the separate storylines. There was a scene in the garment district with a dance performance costumed in bubble wrap dresses. There were many scenes with an African/black man who wore a pvc trench coat, boots and if i recall correctly...a perforated shirt in a flourscent color...very 90's fashion, as is when I believe it was filmed. There is a scene with this man walking down a street and going in a phone booth, there was a girl who was dressed like a prostitute in this scene. Next scene was same man walking into a poor neighborhood approaching a house very rundown and underfurnished, there was a little caucasian girl sitting on the step outside, all dirty wearing a dress, inside was a drug addict looking woman presumably her mother, laying in a bed, old cast iron or brass style frame, they speak for a few. Next scene is same man again this time on a restuarant style bench against a wall with 2 or 3 other men, they are talking, the African man slides down the bench and kisses one of the other men, then I recall a gun being drawn...the only other thing I remember (I may have switched channels during commercial and missed some things, I was a teenager with a short attention span...give me a break) was a young Asian man and woman appearing at the aforementioned hospital towards the end of the movie yet at separate times. I hope this has been discriptive enough to form an answer to my 13 year quest for this movies title. moreVoting Question: Is there any adapter for a full size mattress to fit a queen size frame?

I got my male staff on the 5th December aged 16 weeks. He had many accidents in the beginning whether we were in or out. He's seem to mastered not going in the house now (except when it is raining, he seems to leave a surprise then, like this morning!!!!!), which is frustrating. He's walked in the morning & evening and whenever I can. I work so he is sometimes left on his own for up to 4 hours (MAX).. I come home at lunch and let him out, feed him etc. Originally he was in the kitchen (which is fairly big), a baby gate across the door to shop him getting into the front room & dining room. He has toys, a bone, water etc etc. However he has been chewing the door frames, breakfast chairs etc - weeing, pooing. He even wees in his bed! I hoped he would grow out of it... he has not yet! It was really bringing me down, every time I come in having to clear up poo etc and clean the floors 3 times a day. I love him but it was bringing me down! We have tried rewarding him everytime he goes outside etc (which is how we got him to stop going when we were in the house). Last week we got him a crate, seemed to like it. However on the second day he weed in there and the next day, in his water bowl (i think to hide it!). He will still wee on his bed.. this week i have done 4 loads of HIS washing. I tried separating it to make it smaller, turning one end into his bed, just enough room for him.. and the other into his feeding area (hoping again he wont want to go near his water) I thought he would just grow out of it & couldnt help it, however recently we kept lettin him come upstairs (for approx 3 weeks).. he did not have 1 accident all night.. sometimes held it for up to 10 hours. We had to nip that in the bud as it was like 3 in the bed and the little one said.... Then he's straight back to leaving a wee & a poo! Its annoying me as I now know he can hold it!! FAIRWARNING: this is a long story.. please to anyone that really cares to giving advice, i'm in need of it. please read my story. everything i wrote was for a reason. thank you to anyone who does. Ok i met this guy in 7th grade and we had that little crush and did the whole boyfriend girlfriend thing up until 8th grade. we went to different high schools but still kept in touch. I’m spanish and i had a quince (a sweet 15) and i had him in my court which is like picking the 15 closest guys and girls to do a show with. That was my sophomore year and we dated for like a few weeks and then broke up. He tried getting back together with me the night of my party but I shot him. A few years pass and now I’m a freshman in college and a few weeks before thanksgiving break of ’09 he had contacted me over facebook. A lot of the feelings that I use to have came back. We spoke and I learned that he was going to school in jersey. He told me that he was going to come down for thanksgiving break and asked If I would like to hang out with him. I agreed. When thanksgiving break came we hung out for those few days and we knew that we still had feelings for each other but we didn’t want to rush into anything for the fact that he lives so far now. We wanted to see how the long distance will go until he comes back for Christmas break. We spoke all day everyday and we even skyped during those 3 weeks he was gone. We felt like it was so easy and that the long distance wouldn’t be a problem. The day he got back we became girlfriend and boyfriend. His college had given him an entire month off and during that month he had promised me so much. He said that we were going to last that all he see’s in his future is me. He would even text my mom letting her know how much I meant to him. I introduced him to all my family and he introduced me to all his family and they all loved me and my family loved him. He would take me out to dinner almost everyday and he bought me very expensive meaningful gifts. I honestly felt as if I found the one. That’s wat he made me believe. New years came and I had invited him to stay the night with me in Miami with my family to celebrate it and we were each others very first kiss on new years. At some points I felt as if it was too good to be true. And I guess it was. Days before he left to go back to jersey we both made a promise to not go to parties, clubs, or be in any situation where the opposite sex is involved. Im not a jealous but he was. I only agreed because I wouldn’t find it fair for me not to do anything but ok for him. I realize now how stupid that was. Well we made that promise and he would make me promise everyday that I wouldn’t do that. Sometimes I felt like he didn’t trust me and like he doubted me. Well it was the day that he had to leave and we both sitting on his bed saying our good byes. I began to cry and he even began to cry. He had to leave the room. He had made me a collage of our pictures and he bought a beautiful frame with our picture in so that I could keep it and have something of his in my room. That came out of him. He was absolutely perfect. Me and his parents drove him to the airport and I held his hand throughout the whole and I just didn’t want to let go. We stared into each others eyes most of the ride saying how much we loved each other. Once we got to the airport we said our last goodbyes and he was off. I cried on that drive back to his house staring at that empty seat but I felt deep inside that I had found my match. The minute that he got there he texted me telling me his roommate had brought some girl to the dorm. He told me that he was showing me off to her and telling her how much he loved me. That next night he told me his friends were begging him to go to the club. I had asked my mom for advice and she said to just let him go to get it out of his system. Better now than later. So I said ok go but he took it the wrong way and got mad at me. He said that he wasn’t gonna go. Later I get a text from his mom saying that I need to trust him and that he loves me a lot and that he wouldn’t do anything to hurt and that he went with his friends. That’s wat got me mad. He never told me he went. He said he didn’t feel like going. Later I get a call from him saying “well im here at the club and I haven’t gone inside yet, I can leave right now if u want me to” and all I said was “wow I don’t care, just go do whatever u want” and he said “ok bye” and hung up on me. I was furious. I didn’t know wat to do or say. I started to cry. I couldn’t believe that after all he told me the day after he leaves hes already going back on his own words! He then called me like 20 minutes later saying that he was in the car on his way home that he couldn’t go inside because he felt real bad. We talked all night about wat we should do. He clearly told me that he wanted to be with me. The next day was another fight about the same thing. All he said was how much he wants to have fun and not mis moreResolved Question: Does this bed frame look vintage?

I have to get up for school tomorrow. I'm a pregnant Math Major so need my rest for classes tomorrow plus I'm starting to feel pregnant lol. Anyway my hubby is currently in Basic Training and eventually he will be assigned to the Infantry when he finishes his training. Howdo they decide where to send him. I think I would prefer the midwest because I intend to join him where ever he is assigned (including the baby too!!). I've doing some research on where Army Posts are located and do not want Korea, or Germany, or Alaska. My first choice is Hawaii. Iwouldn't mind the base in Kansas or the one in Missouri. I also would like the one in the California desert on the way to Las Vegas. My parents and in laws could come all the time to visit us and maybe babysit now and than so we could take in a movie. I definitely don't want that Army base in New York because I would prefer only seeing the snow when we go on an outing in the Winter. Also I noticed that they seem to be always deployed so I don't want my husband there. Finally lets say he gets assigned somewhere in the June-July time frame and I could join him after the baby is a few months old so we can start living together in August or September. Is he guaranteed 12 months of rest before being deployed? I noticed that soldiers are given 12 months of rest time between deployments. moreResolved Question: I would like to start cleaning up my house to a minimum and live a min. life style. Please Help.?

It has never done this before in the last 12 years i have lived in this house. I have sprayed Lysol to kill the bad oder germs but that didn't help. There are no leaks in the roof, and nothing is wet. When i open my window and let the room air out it is fine. But once i close the window it starts to smell again. I have had my window open for almost two weeks, but i close it at night or else it gets to cold, so it has had plenty of time to air out. If i leave it closed for more than a day the smell gets so strong that it is almost impossible to stand going in there. There is no mold. Close to the time frame of the gulf war in 1991 I was paid a visit by an unexpected visitor. This is what happened. As I lay sleeping in my bedroom I was paid a visit in the middle of the night by the Devil. My bed was situated that when I slept my head was next to the exterior wall of my bedroom. While I slept in the middle of the night the devil came and placed a vision in my mind. This is what happened. The vision was that of a woman and a man by a tree. They were both clothed and it was nothing that would make me believe it was Adam and eve. The vision was powerful and made me start to wake. As I started to wake the spirit in me manifested the devil to me. I saw him through the spirits eyes. He hovered of the ground had no wings or horns that I saw. He was held in check by gravity even though he flew or hovered I should say. He was slender with the body of a man but the head of a fallen Angel. He radiated with his true colors of evil, meaning, I could feel the evil in him. As for the vision, when I started to wake he knew it and said, speaking through his mind to me, I have been here since the beginning of time, I know who you are calling me by my birth name. When he said this it was as if he was trying to harm me. At that very moment an Angel of the Lord struck the devil in the side with an angelic dart. The Devil leaped as if struck by a lightning bolt. He turned and looked straight at the Angel who struck him. The Angel was posted in the front of our home. He was located just above the place I had been singing and playing my guitar a few nights before. I would often sing to the Lord. Maybe he liked my music! After the devil turned and looked at the Angel terror was on his face. He looked straight at the Angel. I never saw the Angel. The Devil took of like a lightning bolt north east! I've never herd of angelic darts before.. I wish I could have had that on video tape!!!Captian D head would work better! moreVoting Question: why does my room smell so bad?

I've been having a shitty past few weeks. I got a misdemeanor speeding ticket, I've been bombing my midterms and homework, and my job is screwing me over. On top of that I have a lazy ass shitty roommate. Me and him have an agreement. Actually, we had a number of agreements, to which he constantly fails to keep up his end of. Basically this one is simply that I'd do all the chores in the house so long as he does the dishes. We tried to just have a policy of rinsing our own dishes and putting them directly into the dishwasher, but he'd always leave his in the sink until they built up and I didn't have any room to rinse my own dishes, so he agreed to doing the dishes every once in a while. He hadn't done the dishes in the past 2 or 3 weeks. The dishes have piled up and the sink smelled horrible. We don't have any usable dishes in the entire apartment. The past few times I confronted him about it asking when he'll do them he says "Never! It's your turn to do the dishes. I don't remember signing anything saying I have to do the dishes." A little background about my roommate: he's a whiny lazy bastard, who avoids confrontation by locking the door on his room (he specifically installed a lock since our doors didn't naturally come with them) and blasting his crap hip-hop music, and never coming out when I'm in the apartment. He's also been stealing things like my meds and never cleaning up after himself. He runs away to his parents house for weeks at a time because he wants to avoid chores, or just avoid me. I really really wanted to punch him in the face. But I restrained, and basically told him to just get it done. I gave him a grace period over the past few days, and I wanted them done by the time I got back from visiting my parents. I just got back today, and when I opened the door and saw the kitchen, I snapped. The dishes STILL weren't done, and he went back home again. He just got back here like 2 days ago. He probably left because the dishes were smelly and we didn't have anything to eat with. So I turned on the local rock station, landed a well placed flying kick to his locked door, shattered the door frame (it will definitely need new wood), proceeded to put all the dishes in garbage bags and then dumped them on his bed. It felt good. It felt really really good. But you know what, I just broke the law I think. I dunno. Vandalism or something or other. But I guess I could just say, yeah, I tripped and fell into the door on accident. Nobody will believe it and it's total BS, but they have no proof otherwise, and I doubt anyone is going to spend money on an investigation. So how much trouble am I in exactly? I know I will probably have to pay our landlady, or something, but now that the buzz has worn off, I'm worrying a bit. moreResolved Question: Opinions and Suggestions on room decoration?
Hey there, I'm a 15 year old girl, and I've started to feel like my bedroom is a little out-dated for me, it's not my personal bedroom, if that makes sense. So I've decided to change it. Firstly, I have 6 hip-height bookshelves, and a matching pine-style double bed, except all these pieces of furniture are from Sam's Warehouse, which mean it's that fake pine, so it looks a bit crappy. I was thinking of painting them either White with Black patterns, or Black with White patterns. *What do you think?* Secondly, my wardrobe is an in-built one, with sliding mirror doors, with a dark wood frame (same frame as around my door and window) I was thinking of taking out those mirror doors, and replacing them with wooden doors, which would either be White with Black handles and such, or Black with White handles (depends on the furniture) and with the frames, I'm going to paint them black. *Does this seem okay so far?* Thirdly, I'm planning on painting all my walls stark white, with a feature wall up the back. For the feature wall I was thinking either Teal, Red or Yellow (the three colours in my carpet that my mum won't change) OR a bright colour, with a bright rug to cover most of the carpet. *What does everything think?* *ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS* Thanks! x x o Suzie moreResolved Question: If you build a loft bed in your dorm, what do you do with the old bed frame?

The sun had begun to set, igniting the sky in a blazing fire of oranges, yellows and pinks. In her mind, there was nothing as soothing, or as beautiful as the scene played out before her. She sighed, watching the sunset seemed to be the only thing that calmed her nerves enough to let her think. It had been nearly seventeen years since her adoptive parents and taken her in and immigrated to Canada. A desperate attempt at fleeing some crazed assassin that was after her mother for a reason that remained unknown. Globalization was spreading fiercely through the world, leaving Canada the only remaining self-governed country across the globe. So far the country hadn't lost resistance. All of these thoughts spun around her mind only hours ago, but had been almost silenced as Rose sat, watching the sunset, her own natural remedy. RoseAnne leapt from her windowsill with a sigh. The horrifying thoughts returned at once and began to be thrown about her head like a dodge ball. Canada may not have lost resistance yet, but it was evident that their resources were growing slim, Canada wouldn't be able to hold out much longer after all. She still didn't know what was behind the attempt on her mother's life, which had bothered her since she was old enough to understand what it meant. Then to top it off, like a cherry sitting nicely on an ice cream cone, there was Mark. He had once been Rose's best friend, but it had all changed around two years ago when he had decided to pursue her. Both of her parents saw him fitting enough, he had good grades, was exceedingly handsome, lead quarterback on her high school football team and overall a wonderful guy. Despite all of that, she had always loved him more as a brother than anything else, let alone life-partner. She groaned. Too many things had been troubling her recently, Mark being at the top of her list. RoseAnne jerked her head towards her bedroom door. Had the doorbell really just rang? Or had she been hearing things? She closed her eyes, praying that it had only been in her imagination. More than that, she pleaded that it wasn't Mark. She just wouldn't be able to deal with his hopeless rantings today. "Come in!" Marry, her adoptive mother's voice rang out in her usual, too-peppy-to-be-true voice. So it hadn't just been RoseAnne's imagination. Great. “Oh, hey Mark! What brings you here?” Johnathan, her adoptive father bellowed with too much volume, probably for RoseAnne's sake. RoseAnne groaned and flopped onto her bed in surrender to her own hopes. Why? She hoped that Mark would only be stopping in to pick something up, he had forgotten his wallet the last time he had come, maybe he was just picking it up. A girl could hope- right? “Hi Mr. Blair! Is RoseAnne here by chance? I wanna talk to her.” “She's in her room, Mark,” her mother answered. “Thanks Mrs. Blair.” Marry groaned again and rolled onto her stomach, burying her face into her comforters. Maybe he'll think I'm dead and leave me alone. She thought to herself as bitterly as it was sarcastic. Just for good measure she held her breathe as he opened the door. Please think I'm dead.Oh, and this is just a small portion of what will be the first chapter.By harsh I meant that I didn't want people to simply say it sucks. At leaste say WHAT sucks.Ugh! I also said, "Marry groaned" after Mark finished talking. I was writing a different story earlier, and the name was sticking to my head. Sorry! it should read, "Rose groaned" moreVoting Question: Remodeling room Pleease help!?

I haven't heard clanking chains or anything. But Christmas time 2005 I moved the furniture in my bedroom around and for the first time had my bed-frame directly facing the door. It's a pretty small room, too. The door wouldn't open completely in this case. My mum came in and said it wasn't a good idea, as it blocked chi or something. I soon after changed it back, but I swear ever since, it just hasn't felt like my room. And sometimes my dog would growl when I came near him, but he wouldn't be looking at me as he did it. Also, one day my friend came over and was talking to me in a doorway and then looked to her right, distracted, and said she thought she saw a small figure walk into our laundry... even though we were the only two in the house. It's obviously nothing dramatic, like real apparitions or sounds or poltergeist activity, but I do wonder... In 2008, the dog that growled at me all the time died. The day he died, I went into the study to cry as the vet took his body away. I went to get a drink twice in the next two or so hours. In the exact same spot, both times as I went around the corner in the hallway, I looked down to see this brief white mist sliver by and quickly disappear (but not too quickly). It was nearer the ground, about the height that my dog had been. I instantly figured it was him making a few quick rounds before he left for good, but it reminded me of something else... When I was about 11 I was doing homework in the lounge when out of the corner of my eye I saw the same white thing, but when I turned and looked at it, it was much clearer. It was literally white mist about the length of two hands that moved and then vanished. Literally in the space of 3 seconds. These are the only "supernatural" experiences I've had in the house (it's not much really) but the negative feelings are constant these days. I'm not a silly believer of everything under the sun, so it takes a lot for me to genuinely think this. When my parents fight sometimes in the other room, it is like the entire house's mood changes. For AGES after the fight. Almost as if something is feeding on the negativity. And I get this terrible aching in my neck, and get sticky with sweat even in the middle of winter when it is freezing. Either it is just a negative soul that is trying its best not to be noticed in our house, or it is just some seriously bad chi. Can anyone give me any suggestions of how to get rid of it, because for me not to ever feel comfortable in my own wonderful bedroom is a crime! Thanks. :) moreResolved Question: Should I feel like such a jerk for making my step daughter eat healthy?
She is 4 years old and her mother has never taught her to eat anything healthy. The main things that her mom says she eats are macaroni and cheese, peanut butter and jelly (on incredibly processed white bread) and chicken nuggets with fries. Needless to say she has already developed a weight problem. Her mother also gives her a lot of candy and whenever the child comes to visit with us her mom sends junk food in the little backpack that we've designated to transfer stuff between houses. My husband and I have tried to ease her into our rules so that she wasn't shell shocked at suddenly being made to eat healthy foods. She has been visiting with us for nearly 6 months now and we decided this morning that she would have brown sugar and cinnamon oatmeal instead of Trix. I didn't buy the super healthy kind. It had plenty of sugar and he and I both ate it as well so that she didn't see a double standard going on. We even made some for the baby. I made breakfast for everyone at about 9am. My husband had made plans with his father to go out for a little while since they haven't seen each other in a while. He delayed his plans at 9:30 when it became apparent that the child was not going to finish her oatmeal easily. By 10 I told him to just go with his father and I'd take care of things for him. We'd sent the child back to bed because she'd progressed into a full on scream fit about the oatmeal. She got up about 10 minutes after he left and we talked for a couple minutes (about how she needed healthy food and that daddy and I wouldn't make her eat it if we didn't love her) and then I sent her back to the table to eat her food. The whole time he was gone she complained about eating her oatmeal. She decided that she liked the punishment of being sent back to bed so I had to come up with alternate punishments. 1. She had to stand in the corner 2. I said I'd make more if she didn't finish what she had within a certain time frame. 3. If she didn't finish the oatmeal for breakfast then she'd have to have daddy's healthy vegetable soup for lunch. 4. She wouldn't be allowed to go out with Nana later if she didn't do as she was told now.(My husband texted me that one) 5. She wouldn't get her chocolate yogurt later if she didn't eat her oatmeal. By the time my husband got home about 11:30 she had a tiny bit left. We had gone around in circles with the aforementioned things being said alternately. She made excuses about how her mom didn't make her do those things. All I really said was that I'm not her mom and Daddy had said that she needed to eat healthy foods. I felt like such a jerk for enforcing those rules, but I think it would be worse to let her grow up to be obese like everyone in her mother's family (I don't mean any offense, they just are) Eventually she did so and instantly my husband hugged her and told her how proud he was and how much he loved her. I took her to the bathroom for her bath and reiterated how proud we were. She said she liked when we were proud of her. It felt a little better when we were able to show her affection and praise, but getting there was total hell! Is this pretty normal for 4 year olds? Are we doing the right thing in sticking to our guns and making sure she is fed properly? And please no comments about the step parent needing to stay out of it. I love her just as much as her mother and father and her father values my help so that he never loses his cool when she gets difficult. It takes 2 to parent a child whether they both be biological parents or not. moreVoting Question: I need help with my room!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
