Resolved Question: dry clean only futon cover help!?
I recently got a futon from my friend, who bought it from a garage sale... Something inside it stinks really bad. I have a heightened sense of smell due to partial hearing loss. Even tho I can hear again, I can still smell EVERYTHING nasty with in a mile I swear! My fiancé says he can't smell it, I only smell it while I'm on the futon, it smells like I'm sitting in a garbage pile. I can't stand it anymore! I removed the cover, it doesn't say what materials it is made from, but it does say dry clean only. I don't have time for that, I want to clean it now! I've suffered for 3 months already. What will happen if I machine wash but air dry? Do you think it will be ok? If all else fails, I can buy a new one for 100 and it wouldn't bother me a bit. Its a full size cover (77 x 54)
