i have a queen size futon that needs a great topper, ive been looking at Tempurpedic Mattress Toppers and their dreadful prices of atleast $600 for a queen size, but then i came across a Bragada Mattress Topper, same size, but $400 cheaper coming in at $200. is this a good investment to get the Bragada? id be great to save $400 anyday! today seems like the day... is it? moreResolved Question: full mattress/queen futon frame?

I am redoing my room and i have a loft bed that i want to put a futon underneath it. It seems like ive looked everywhere and the cheapest i found was one at target for $99. I don't wanna get a bed frame for my room, i plan on just sticking the box spring and mattress on the floor. My mom is worried because the house has wood floors and she doesn't what to scratch the floors. I have a futon now, and im planning on selling it because it flips easy. Is there something like a box spring or a box spring that won't scratch the floors? moreResolved Question: want to know the style of a futon I will describe ?
OK i know the question is a bit vague, so I apologize. The particular style I am looking for is where the couch is actually two mattresses, one makes up the back rest and the other makes up the bench seat, and when you need it, it can be pulled out to form a single bed. Ive had several of the single mattress style and having to keep readjusting it is a pain so I am looking for one like my original one described above. Thanks ahead of time. moreResolved Question: What size futon mattress should i get?
I have a futon frame that is 58 inches wide and 60 inches long when laid out as a bed. I can't seem to find a mattress with those measurements. Any help? moreResolved Question: What should I do about my sore tailbone?
I have been having a sore tailbone for about a month now, and I do know why. I recently got a new futon mattress which is thicker than the last one, but it feels more airy. It's hard to explain. The point is, I can feel the bars through the mattress when i do anything on it...sleep, lay down, sit, stand, etc. and I think that that is why I am having this problem. I had no injury that would lead to it so it HAS to be this damn futon/futon mattress. The frame itself is about a year old but like I have said, this mattress is about a month old, same as my tailbone problem. I know what kind of things I can do to stop it like pain relievers and soaking, but why even try that when the pain is just going to come back from sleeping on it and using it everyday. There is no other way to replace the mattress and we don't have the financial means to buy a better futon or buy a bed, so what should I do? If I keep sleeping on it, will my tailbone become severly damaged or anything like that? My dad did buy the cheapest futon frame in the whole store too, so that can also be a contributing factor. Here's a picture of the frame...Thanks :)https://www.boscovs.com/wcsstore/boscovs/images/store/product/images/51679947654029.jpgAlso, I cannot return the mattress because neighbor had given it to me. I love futons and have a small room so if I get a bed then it will leave me no free space :( I also like the avalibility of having a couch in the day, and bed at night. I just think we should have invested into a couple hundred dollar futon because that's what I've read. https://www.boscovs.com/wcsstore/boscovs/images/store/product/images/51679947654029.jpg <--- correct picture moreResolved Question: Where can i find a futon mattress?
I am a first time college student looking for a futon mattress that is both affordable( max 150$) and isn't thin enough to feel the bars of the futon(possibly 5-6"?). It is for a full size, bi-fold futon that will be used as a couch more than a bed. I won't lie and say I've searched extensively for them, but I'm not sure where to start looking. Where can I find a mattress, preferably online? Thank you in advance. moreVoting Question: Allergies! question about cleaning pet dander?
I'm kind of allergic to cats and their fur/dander. I got a futon mattress and pillows from a house with a cat. they had some cat hair and dander on them so I took the covers off them and washed them twice (cold water as instructed on the tags of the mattress covers and pillow covers). But I can still visibly see cat hair on them. Will I be allergic to them still? Is it possible that the stuff that causes the allergy (dander) got washed off and the remaining cat hairs can just be lint rolled off? moreResolved Question: What kind of bed would be comfortable for us both and not have to spend a lot of money?
I love a soft bed. We had been sleeping on a sofa sleeper mattress on the floor with a 4 in. memory foam on top. It works but i've endured minor back pain/stiffness from it. So we put the thin mattress and memory foam topper on the futon sleeper and I slept more comfortable than I have in months! I felt great! But when told my boyfriend, he complained that he hadn't and that his chest hurts, that the bed is too soft. I don't want to get rid of the foam topper but I would like some suggestions of whats a good compromise for us both. Thanks. moreResolved Question: Why do you think my sister-in-law didn't want to stay at our place?
I told my sister-in-law that she could stay at our two bedroom apartment. Our second room doesn’t have a bed, but she could bring a blow up mattress. The second bathroom is attached to the second bathroom very convent. My sister-in-law, her husband and daughter decided to stay with my brother-in-law that lives in two bedroom duplex with one bathroom. My bother-in-law has a small cramping futon and his place is a mess. My sister-in-law said that are staying over at the bother-in-laws place is because it is closer to my mother-in-laws. My brother-in-law place is the same distance as our place. I think the reason they didn’t want to stay was because I am 16 weeks pregnant and my sister-in-law had two miscarriages this year. What do you think? moreResolved Question: So, the bedframe is too big?
My fiancee and I recently moved in together and he had a futon. The futon worked for a while until it bent and was unusable. So we had to find a frame, boxspring, and matress all on a budget. And I mean B U D G E T. We are TIGHT on money... Im not going into details on that. So we got a 44 dollar universtal type frame from Value City. It says it can be a twin to a king frame. The thing is so cheap it didnt even come with instructions, just a diagram pitcture thing. There are three sizes. A twin/full. A twin/full/queen. And a king/cal king. The ONLY difference between the first two is the middle of the queen has a bar going down. The size for the frame though is the same for a twin, a double and a queen. We have a double bed, the same size as the futon we had. After we got the frame set up and put the boxspring and mattress on the bed, we realized something. The frame is a little further from the side of the bed. About three inches further. I assume its because it could also fit a queen? We got the matress and frame pushed up against the wall - where my fiancee sleeps - and so it hangs on the left side - where I sleep - and my fiancee is scared Im going to hurt myself waking up to pee or something in the morning cause Im short. We cant fit the bed to where its not hanging out on my end, cause then the matress is away from the wall and fiancee will probably roll off and hurt himself. What are we supposed to do? There is no possible way we could afford even the cheapest frame right now. We have to save the rest of what we have for rent and utilities and will be lucky if we have enough left. The twin/full notches are the same as the queen notches. I could take picture of the box if needed. Both the twin/full diagram and twin/full/queen diagram use Fig. B to show you exactly where the notches go. moreResolved Question: How do you sleep in camp?
Most hunters I know can just throw down a tarp on the ground, throw down a nasty unwashed sleeping bag, and boom! Asleep. I could sleep anywhere at all when I was a child, until I was about 25, but now I have some issues. First of all, I have a phobia about sleeping bags. I feel trapped, like someone could attack me in my sleep, and I couldn't fight back, and they could kill me or torture me easily because I was trapped in my sleeping bag. I carry a sleeping bag in my pack hunting because I am afraid of getting lost and dying of exposure, but I REALLY don't like to be in a sleeping bag. I am very thin, and don't produce a lot of heat. Consequently, I will put on white thermal underwear, a pair of thin socks, a pair of thick socks, gloves, a sweatshirt, and a wool cap on when I go to sleep. If it is really cold, I will put on a pair of insulated underwear over that, in addition to insulated down booties. I will then sleep under two thick blankets. I will sleep in a small tent with a rain fly. I use an old futon mattress to lie on. I actually prefer to use an actual pillow. As I am a very small man, with little ability to fight, I keep a handgun with me when I sleep, usually a small semi automatic, with no round in the chamber, so I won't accidentally shoot myself. I have a lot of fears of sleeping alone in the woods. I fear robbers/killers/Blair Witch/UFO abductions/Strange Noise, etc. I dislike sounds in the night. My ideal solution, is whenever possible I try to persuade someone to sleep with me in the tent. When someone else is with me, I have no problems, and go right to sleep. I like being in the woods. But I really hate sleeping, particularly at night in the woods. This has practically destroyed the pleasure of hunting for me. I have a person who can tell me where to be opening day, but the stress of camping out the night before, really makes for an unpleasant and tired first day. Right now the only way I have of dealing with this, is I really suck up to my friends when I am about to go camping, and I beg, beg, beg one of them to come with me. Does anyone else have these issure about camping?Jeremy Deer eat the shoots of baby trees. Angeles national forest can only hold so many deer, or the forest will die off. 100 years ago, all the deer were killed by mountain lions. Now they are killed by hunters. Given a choice, I would rather be shot by a bullet than killed by a Mountain Lion. But that is just me.Guess Jeremy took off. moreResolved Question: How much should i sell for my futon??please help?

We have a small, two bedroom condo. There's not enough room for a table in the living room, so we eat off the coffee table. Apparently, many people think it's wrong not to have a table. Anyway, we had been using the second bedroom to house our two computers and a giant futon, but I had the crazy idea to turn it into a dining room, with a small desk pushed up against the wall for my computer. I figure we can just get an air mattress, since it doesn't make sense to devote half the room for guests who are rarely around. Is it crazy to do this? The room is down the hallway (albeit a short hallway) and is a real room with carpet and a door. When not in use by fondue dinner parties (yes, they're awesome), it could be our nerd game table. Is this weird? Yes, I know what truly matters is if my boyfriend and I are happy, but clearly other interests matter since other people have pushed us to want a table (and he kinda wants one too--I'm the slob in the relationship). moreVoting Question: What are these maggot-like bugs that are black with orange horizontal line on their back?
I was cleaning out a storage closet that I keep dog food in and other things, and at the bottom of the closet is a futon mattress. On top of the mattress after taking everything out I saw the exoskeletons of these tiny wormy like bugs. I then lifted up the mattress and I saw some living ones. I am completely disgusted. I know that it might have something to do with some dog food crumbs I found. I always keep my house spotless I don't know how I could have gotten them. Can someone tell me what they are? moreResolved Question: im 11 with back and neck pains what do i do?
Im 11, about a year ago I fell on a wooden floor really hard. Hard enough to pull up the board I fell on ever since then my back and neck always hurts. At first it hurt, but not as bad as it does now. I sleep on a futon(bed that turns into a couch) I can fill the bars through the mattress and I know that is making my back hurt even more. I mention to my parents that my back hurts all the time but they just say im to young to have back problems.I think they say this cause like I said im 11, and parents just don't understand. My back has been hurting really really bad here lately I JUST CAN'T TAKE IT ANY MORE! I'm thinking about buying a futon bed for my apartment. But my only concern is if it comfortable to sleep on a daily basis. If so, do you recommend a specific type or store to buy it from> moreResolved Question: How do I convince him that the couch is NOT the litterbox?
TJ has pissed on my futon (I'm using the words couch/futon interchangably through this post - - same piece of furniture) again. I'm getting EXTREMELY frustrated, almost to the point of wanting to rehome him! Here are the things I have tried: Veterinary exam and urinalysis -- Yes, he has a MILD UTI, and he did get an antibiotic injection for it. This was 2 days ago. I thought surely I'd see a little improvement by now. Besides, this recent jig of him peeing on the couch hasn't been the only time. He's done this I'd say every couple of weeks for the past 2-4 months. The past 2 days he's peed on the couch twice. He is neutered, and to my knowledge there are not any intact cats in the apartment complex. I've cleaned the couch with Nature's Miracle, hoping to remove any left-behind kitty smells. I will be changing the decorative cover on the futon AGAIN today. Previously, I had tried all sorts of dish soap/vinegar/baking soda/peroxide concoctions -- I'm surprised it didn't eat a hole through the futon mattress. In my 500 sq. ft apartment I have ONE cat and TWO litterboxes which are scooped EVERY day. The addition of the second litterbox just happened a couple of weeks ago after the LAST time he peed no the couch. One of the litterboxes is situated immediately next to the couch. It is a covered litterbox. The other litterbox is in an opposite corner, uncovered. I use Tidy Cats litter. I tried a feliway plug-in for about a month until the little oil canister ran out. I have not bothered to buy a refill, but I intend to go out today to get more feliway. (Should I get a diffuser refill or the feliway spray?) My veterinarian/boss has suggested possible behavioral medications -- i.e., buspirone or fluoxitine. I haven't done this yet but am seriously considering it. Short of opening the front door and throwing him out (no, I won't, despite the incredible urge), what else can I do?! He's an adorable, sweet, affectionate kitty and I love him to pieces, but I also love having the opportunity to sit down on a comfortable piece of furniture after a long day working at the hospital! *sigh* moreResolved Question: Where can i buy a futon mattress in the UK?

I have about 15 small boxes of my things....currently all able to fit in my bedroom closet... a futon mattress, a small dresser, a computer desk, two night stands, and a very small "one hand can lift me" bookshelf. I'm moving into a studio apartment in two months and am looking for a sleeper sofa but am having trouble finding what I'm looking for and want to see if anyone else has found something suitable that can point me to the right company/brand/store. Here is what I need: I will be sleeping on this bed exclusively for two years while I'm in Grad school so I want one that pulls out (so I can put nice sheets on it and people wont be sitting on it all the time) I do not want one that folds flat like a futon. I'm looking for a full but will settle for any size if it's in my price range. Styling is unimportant My budget is $550.00 but I would really like something under 500. Ikea has one for 499, but it doesn't look to be very high quality and I just feel like there has to be one out there somewhere a little nicer I will no under any circumstances purchase a used sleeper sofa. So no craigslist. I am a very fastidious person who is appalled by the idea of sleeping on a used mattress from someone I don't know. In my mind it isn't clean and could have bed bugs or fleas in it, so I need something new. I know a lot of you out there live in studio apartments. How did you solve this problem? What did you buy to sleep on? moreResolved Question: Quality of this futon? help? :)?

moreVoting Question: Nostalgia/flashbacks of non-traumatic memories causing anxious/nervous feelings?
Sometimes smells, tastes, and sights make remind me of previous times in my life, and I immediately feel a little nervous/anxious like my stomach is fluttering. The memories aren't of any specific traumatic event, but rather just times in the past. For example: *I found a bottle of hairspray that was 2 years old, and when I sprayed it the smell of the hairspray immediately took me back to the last time I used it (2 years ago during my freshman year) and I had a quick panicy/anxious feeling. *Or, today, I took a deep breath, and all of a sudden the humidity in my apartment reminded me of 1 year ago when it was similarly humid and I just started living here. *Or, when I was packing, seeing the mattress of my futon reminded me of when I first moved into my old apartment and didn't have bedsheets at the time. Anyway, every time these memories come to me, I immediately get an anxious/nervous feeling in my gut and in my mind. Do other people feel like this too when they get nostalgic or a triggered? Do you know why I might feel like this? Thanks. moreVoting Question: Where can i get a replacement mattress for a futon like this?

So this past Monday I woke up early in the morning to this severe hip pain in my right hip. I flipped over to find that I also had pain in my left hip. Of course, I can't sleep on my back or my belly so my only options are my hips and, with both of them in pain, I decided to get up. When I got up I almost collapsed. I slowly sat down and put a heating pad on my right hip (where the pain was greatest) and eventually the pain went away. I had the same problem on Tuesday and the same thing happened. This happened again this morning but this time the pain never completely went away. The pain was extremely piercing this morning to the point where I couldn't find any comfort. As time passed, the pain softened but, today, it has not completely gone away. In fact, I've been limping around the house all day and I can't get any chores done. I feel like I'm about to tip over and, though both hips are in pain, the right one feels like there's a huge bruise on it that I just can't see. Both hips feel as if they are about to pop out. Now, this is my second pregnancy. I know there can be discomfort around this time when you are pregnant and I did feel that with my first but this pain is different. I have never experienced anything like this before and it has me worried. I have pregnancy pillows, memory foam pillows, down pillows, cotton pillows, a futon mattress and memory foam pad on top of my mattress so I know I'm doing everything right and, yes, I do keep my body pillow between my legs at night and additional pillows under my feet. All this week I've tried different ways to position the pillows and I've tried all of the different types of pillows and the pain continues to get worse. Has anyone ever experienced this before? Any advice on how to get some comfort? Is this something I should be worried about? Thanks so much for your help in advance! moreResolved Question: Can you use just a memory foam to sleep on (no bed, no mattress) for a day or two?
Will it be painful or comfortable? I will be living in a small apartment. I need something in which my guests (say, a couple) can sleep on for a day or two. I need to be able to fold it to a very small size and put away. I do not have a lot of storage space so the folding beds are not an option. I might go for a futon but would prefer not buying a large furniture. Any suggestions? moreResolved Question: What futon mattress is best for long term sleeping? And does it have a warrenty?

I have a platform bed. The bed has slates, not all one flat surface -- the slates are wide wooden pieces, with spaces in between them. For about a year now, I've just had a futon mattress on top of it, but it's not the most comfortable thing in the world (the mattress, that is), so I am going to replace it. My question is, when I buy a regular mattress for the platform bed, do I need to use a box-spring with it? moreResolved Question: I "gave" my friend a mattress, could I ask for it back?
My friend was moving into an apartment, so I told him he could use my futon since he didn't have a mattress and bed. He has since moved to another apartment and has bought a new full size bed. I can't recall if I said he could have it or if I offered to let him use it. I didn't expect to need it back, so I guess we were both under the impression that he could keep it for a long time? Since I am moving places soon, I asked him if I could use the futon for a couple of weeks before I secure an actual bed. I plan on asking another friend to help me transport it to my new place. The thing is my friend wants the futon back after I get an actual bed because he wants to use it for couch surfers (though he has an actual couch). It sort of irked me the way he phrased his response, "Sure, I use it for couch surfers so I would like it back." I guess I still assume that I am the rightful owner even though he is in possession of it. And he obviously thinks the futon is his. I guess my question boils down to whether or not I am being an Indian giver? And am I responsible for transporting the futon back to him after I am done using it? moreResolved Question: Is it acceptable for a father to share a bed with his 12 year old daughter?

2 of the metal hinges underneath the futon mattress are broken but I suppose some strong glue like substance could fix that. And if money were no object I wouldn't even bother asking this... I just want an opinion or two. moreResolved Question: Any ideas on how to keep my futon mattress from folding?
I have a futon and the mattress keeps on folding. At the part of the mattress that is sitting up the corners keep on folding down revealing the frame.
