Voting Question: I need advice - not sure what to do...I found out my husband has a sex addiction.?
I found websites that were "googled and searched and looked at" on both of our home computers.
at first, when I asked him what the search was he denied it and lied right to my face... I ignored him the rest of the night and he slept in other room as I couldn't sleep due to what my mind was telling me..
Next moring,while he was at work - I look on other computer and low and behold, find more sites and then found two searches for a escort in vegas... that is what set me off ...I left the house and wrote nasty notes all over the house... to make this long long story short - he did do this when I met him ( was on dating sites etc) and after we were dating seriously, I made him stop all his memberships and delete everything - all was fine...we got married and have been having a great time ( so I thought). We also have been TTC and that also has been an issue for past two years - gee, now I know why.
I'm at a loss and don't know what to do ....when confronted with me knowing, he went into a "child-like" behavior throwing his hands up and shaking all over saying "I don't kow what to do...I don't know what to do"...and threw himself onto the futon in a child like temper - it was the most bizarre thing I've ever seen.
I made him understand that he needs help as its a situation spiraling out of control and he agreed and has called like 5-6 different doctors/therapist to which only 2 have called him back...our health insurance gave him 2 names but only 1 in in service and yet hasn't called him back ( hoping the sessions are covered by insurance as can't afford $100 a week ) ..He was researching the subject and seems to think that he stems from when he first masterbated at age 18 ( he is now 48) and so thinks its just a quick fix to go and someone will help him and all be fine - he doesnt get that it will take time.
I feel sick all the time (was hoping it was on acct of getting pregnant but its not) - I cry constantaly and to boot....nobody can know..Our family cannot know as they would die and friends cannot know as don't want them to find out...so I feel alone in this..He knows I can't be near him but he wants to try taking things slow ( hold hands and hug me when I get in from work , back rub ) all the little things that he now says makes him realize how much he truely loves me... He is not an evil man - just the opposite. very sweet. I don't understand why men do this - I do know they look at porn but why? you have a wife at home who loves you and would do anything if only he asked her to... he always had an obsession with redheads - so why not just buy me a wig and I could've lived out that for him instead he goes to look at them online - why? sooo many ??? - I don't know what to do...is it okay to talk to him - he wants to . he wants me to tell him what i'm thinking no matter how it hurts to hear... he wants the help with is great but why can't any of the doctors call him back? I don't get it... anyone ever gone through this?? any advice would be great right about now. - our 5th yr anniversay is in November so basically we haven't even made it 5 yrs on a good note yet - ughso basically, you think i'm making more of this situation than what it really is? Yes, I know men look at porn and if it was just woman he was looking at - I probably wouldn't be so upset...I saw teens in bikinis that he was looking at - thats sick!!! and then about the escorts, he goes to vegas for work every year and so he was "thinking" about it but didn't go through with it.... just thinking of having one is an issue ...yes, im upset and I do appreciate everyones advice - I'm just at a loss - thats all :-(

Thursday Jones has been urinating on my futon and I'm at my wit's end. I did ask this question a day or so ago and got an answer about mousetraps (which I'm afraid might hurt him, so I won't do), but I'm hoping other folks might have other ideas. I have gone so far as to email a local rescue to begin the process of putting TJ in the "owner foster" program, where he'll continue to live with me while the rescue lists him until a new owner is found. Here are the things I have tried to solve the couch-peeing problem:
Veterinary exam and urinalysis -- Yes, he has a MILD UTI, and he did get an antibiotic injection for it. This was nearly 5 days ago. Since then, he's peed on the couch SIX more times! I thought surely I'd see a little improvement by now. Besides, this recent jig of him peeing on the couch hasn't been the only time. He's done this I'd say every couple of weeks for the past 2-4 months. He is neutered, and to my knowledge there are not any intact cats in the apartment complex.
I've cleaned the couch with Nature's Miracle, hoping to remove any left-behind kitty smells. I have washed the decorative covers and replaced them SEVERAL times, cycling through my 3 covers.
Since I put on the most recent clean futon cover, I found a plastic carpet-protector and laid it spiky-side up on the couch. A couple of days ago I left him here alone for a few hours with the carpet-protector on the couch, and came home to find a puddle on the plastic carpet runner! Clearly, having his paws poked by little plastic spikes does not bother him.
In my 500 sq. ft apartment I have ONE cat and TWO litterboxes which are scooped EVERY day. The addition of the second litterbox just happened a couple of weeks ago after the LAST time he peed on the couch. One of the litterboxes is situated immediately next to the couch. It is a covered litterbox. The other litterbox is in an opposite corner, uncovered. I use Tidy Cats litter.
I tried a feliway plug-in for about a month until the little oil canister ran out. I have not bothered to buy a refill, but I intend to go out today to get more feliway. (Should I get a diffuser refill or the feliway spray?)
My veterinarian/boss has suggested possible behavioral medications -- i.e., buspirone or fluoxitine. I haven't done this yet but am seriously considering it.
The past couple of days he's been staying in his "room" with litter box, food, water, toys, and bed when he's not supervised. It's the only way I can come home confident that he hasn't peed on anything.
Is there ANYTHING ELSE I can do to get him to stop this?! I am exhausted and exasperated.

Short of opening the front door and throwing him out (no, I won't, despite the incredible urge), what else can I do?! He's an adorable, sweet, affectionate kitty and I love him to pieces, but I also love having the opportunity to sit down on a comfortable piece of furniture after a long day working at the hospital!

Even tho I can hear again, I can still smell EVERYTHING nasty with in a mile I swear! My fiancé says he can't smell it, I only smell it while I'm on the futon, it smells like I'm sitting in a garbage pile. I can't stand it anymore! I removed the cover, it doesn't say what materials it is made from, but it does say dry clean only. I don't have time for that, I want to clean it now! I've suffered for 3 months already. What will happen if I machine wash but air dry? Do you think it will be ok? If all else fails, I can buy a new one for 100 and it wouldn't bother me a bit. Its a full size cover (77 x 54)

2 of the metal hinges underneath the futon mattress are broken but I suppose some strong glue like substance could fix that.

I am in a load of debt and want to know more about bankruptcy. My mom died when I was 17 and I have been raising my younger brother ever since. It has been very hard, for two years he was secretely living in my dorm room until I was able to break my housing contract and get an apartment. That is where the debt comes in. My grandmother came to visit and we had no furniture, literally one futon and some covers. She went crazy and decided the I HAD to buy furniture (she is a very forceful person) SO we bought the furniture, she cosigned and said it would be a good way for me to build some credit. It was a 6 mt deferred payment plan. She told me that she was going to pay for half and I would pay for the other half. At that time she was also receiving an SSI check for my brother (because he was under 18 and in H.s) she would send off part of it and helped me pay half of the rent, but this help only lasted 6 months. To say the least my family is all screwed up! Anyway, she stopped sending money and I had to start paying for the rent and utilities on my own which ended up being ALOT of money. I dont have to mention that she never helped pay on the furniture (which I still owe on)
So after talking to a "friend" he was telling me that he's in realestate and that he could help me get on my feet while improving my credit score, so when I graduate from college I would qualify for things! So I was to purchase a house and receive 6000 at closing 2000 of which would be invested in order to pay off the taxes for the year. I wasn't planning on living in the house for two more years, until I graduated from college. I used the 4000 to pay my rent in my apt for the rest of the year and that made my bills a lot more manageable for the time being, that was until I found out that the "management company" was not collecting the rent. Although I had been receiving NOTICES and receipts for payment! From what I understand the house went into foreclosure, I never even had a set of keys! I had known this guy since i was a little girl and I can't believe he scammed me. He's a close family friend!
After reading up on the situation, Iearned that I was in the wrong for saying that I was going to live in the house when I wasn't planning to. Now I have a foreclosure and debt because of the furniture . I was just trying to make life normal for my little brother and I, but I ended up ruining mine! I don't know what to do, where to go, who to turn to! I dont have the financial stability to hire a lawyer and at this point I am being sued by HSBC for the furniture, but I have no way to pay them, nothing to pay them. I can't even settle because I don't have the money. I live in Michigan and finding a job is virtually impossible, literally I have applied everywhere from department stores to office buildings and no one wants me because of my lack of FULL TIME job experience (I have been a student and worked 35 hr/wk for the last 4 years) . Please help me!

If I don't file for bankruptcy, how long will this foreclosure loom over me and what are my responsibilities concerning the foreclosure? How will the taxes pay out? I don't even know who to contact on this

I regret the fact that I let myself get screwed and in so deep in this matter :( Ive been fending for myself since 17 (right about the time when I was supposed to learn how to properly transition into adulthood) I dont want to make another stupid mistake, I am already in over my head!!!
As for bankruptcy as an option, what does this do to the foreclosure? I think that with all of this stuff added up I'm over 100,000 in debt, not to include the student loans that I have to start paying back ( I know I can't get rid of those).

So we have a futon with a plastic cover over it (because my cat will not stop peeing on it) we have bought new covers each time he pees... We have even bought a "No Mark" spray from PetSmart. We even put him in a huge dog crate with a litter box, food and water when he peed on the couch one time as a punishment. He knocked over his water, kicked litter everywhere, knocked it on the walls and even laid down in the mess afterwords. We even tried putting foil on the couch but he steps on it and pees on it. I'm renovating and redecorating my house. I'm going for an antique French sort of look... Think the movie Marie Antoinette, but not quite as extreme. Lots of white, cream, black and pastel. It's currently a haphazard collection of old passed down furniture (clunky, big, heavy and wooden stuff), simple streamlined modern pieces (mainly presents) and a few pieces of my own choosing such as delicate glass vases and a beautiful upholstered lounge set.
I have the budget to repaint, polish floorboards and buy new rugs and curtains so that's all fine. I can also buy new accessories such as artwork and new light fittings. But I can't really replace every piece of furniture in my big 4 bedroom house. How can I make my existing furniture fit in with the new look?
Here are some ideas I've already had:
Cutting off the boring/modern/table legs and replacing with more delicate legs
Repainting wooden furniture in white or stain the wood black
Cover furniture that can't be saved (such as my bright red futon couch!) with textured cream/toille fabrics with fringing.

Big background: my bf and I have been dating for 3 yrs and are moving in together.
Story: At the beginning of this year, my bf was thinking about getting soccer season tickets, $1600 in total. But he was short of money. I told him seriously “if you can't afford it, just don't buy it. You can buy tickets for individual games.” So he gave up. But his Mom encouraged him to get the tickets, and said she would give him half of the tickets money, which is $800. After he got the tickets, she never mentioned about the money she promised, even though she went to a few of the games using the tickets. Now my bf and I are moving in together, and we need to get some furniture. He has $9K debt on credit card because a few recent medical bills not covered by his insurance. My bf makes more money than I do, but I don’t have any debt or loan at this point. So I gave him $2K cash to lower his debt. And I paid another $2K for security deposit of our apartment. I am already out $4K. We are on a tight budget. But, he doesn't want to ask mom for the $800, even though we could use that money to buy a couch.
PS: my bf's Dad, a lawyer, died a few years ago, and left a lot of money to his wife, my bf's Mom. I don't know how she could forget about her promise. Maybe $800 is nothing to her, but it can make a different for a young couple starting a life together. His mom learned that we are moving in together, said she can give us some old furniture that she has long been thinking about getting rid of. First she said we can take a 3-seat sofa, and then after a few days of thinking, she said, oh, no if the sofa is gone, the two chairs will be left without matching sofa. Then she said we can take a futon, but she said she kinda likes it and want to keep it, and now her dog sleeps on the futon all day long. Then an old loveseat, but she said it looks nice in the basement. If she gives my bf the $800, nobody has to go through the trouble thinking what to get or what to get rid of.
So, shall I remind his mom about the money? We never expected her to promise to pay the tickets cost, but she did it voluntarily, and my bf bought the tickets because of her promise. Shouldn’t she be responsible for her promise?

I don't have a lot of furniture - pretty much the basics. All my furniture is miss-matched - especially in the living & dinning rooms. All my furniture is hand-me-down & antique store finds, they are great solid pieces but all have different finishes and styles. I would love to be able to buy new furniture, but I simply cannot afford it at all.
My walls are currently white and I have wood floors and lots of great wood trim. I am seriously thinking of painting all my furniture a shade of white & adding white slip covers for my futon(aka the "sofa") and recliner. I am also thinking about painting the walls a nice soft green or soft blue. I have great art and accessories to work with - just really missed-matched furniture. I'm just not sure if this look will improve what I have to work with or if it will look worse than before. I am an artist and I want my home to reflect who I am.
Do you all think it's worth the risk? Any help with suggestions would be great.

I keep seeing baby roaches in the same corner of my apartment and on my futon. I dont know where they are coming from but friends ask if they are inside the mattress. I dont know how to tell and am afraid to take the cover off and look. They may also be coming from baseboards. I dont know how to tell.
I have had the apartment exterminated twice and still have this roach problem. I can't sleep because every time I lie down I see a baby roach crawling by my face. It's not cute.

I am sick of my futon and I want to transform it visually and functionally into a sofa. I recently purchased a slipcover for a sofa and I am trying to figure out how to construct the arms to be like those of a sofa. I've bought some pillows and duct tape. That should be okay for the arm rest part of the arm, but what do i do with the part of the arm that would be along the back of the sofa... crap that doesn't make sense. Okay if the sofa arm was your arm, I think I'm okay with the forearm part of it, but the upper arm has me stumped. how do i build "biceps" on my soon-to-be sofa? It doesn't have to be pretty because it will be under a slip cover.

Ok, we have a futon and the covering is black and we recently got a dog so it has gotten major noticeable stains on it, we are going to buy a khaki colored cover for it, but when I unzipped the black cover, I noticed that the futon filling is nothing but a bunch of tiny little balls of fabric loosely clumped together.
