so this year i'm going to be a senior in high school, up until the 2nd semester of my junior year i didn't take school very seriously. the 2nd semester of junior year i finally got my sh*t together and made all As and Bs, mostly A's. my plan is to try to make as many A's as possible senior year, go to community college ( i figure i wouldn't be able to get into a decent college with my past school history) for 2 years for prerequisites for pharmacy school then apply to a pharmacy school in KC, missouri my dad doesn't believe i will even graduate high school so doesn't think i'll go to college do u think since i won't be going to like a normal college that i shouldn't ask for help with money for like rent for an apartment (my mom is sick and will be moving in with my aunt once i graduate HS and living with my dad isn't an option), classes, and whatever else? he's very well off so money isn't a problem for him, but i'm kind of scared to ask when the time comes i guess. like i feel i shouldn't ask since he doesn't think i will actually make it in school. he doesn't know my plan to go to pharmacy school for that reason, i'm like afraid he will think it won't happen moreOpen Question: Are you looking for a beautiful home with garden in Puerto Vallarta?

I am in the last month of my 1 yr. lease at my current apartment complex. A law just recently passed in the industry I currently work in, that has caused my income to drop dramatically. Needless to say I'm having trouble coming up with this last month's rent. September 5, 2009, is when I moved into this apartment, and September 5, 2010 will be the 12th month. I know that most evictions occur months before the lease is up, and you have rights as a tenant, and more time to move than you know, but is that the case if I'm in my last month??? Do I have more time to leave than the 5th of September?? Please advise. Thanks for your time and input. moreOpen Question: We want to move in with each other?

I am trying to find an apartment in Northern Colorado area. Im looking in the Thornton, Broomfield, Northglenn, some where up there area. I am also looking to keep my rent at $700 and below. Also looking for washer and dryer in the unit or at least have the hook ups. Any suggestion please let me know. I am having no luck!!!! Pleas pass along any ideas. Thanks. moreOpen Question: Does anyone know ANY place I can rent an apartment at where I can take my 2 dogs? They're both female pitbulls?
(I already asked this one but this is in case anyone missed it and may be able to help as well as the others :) I live in Orlando, FL in the United States and would prefer that the place be 45 min or less away from University of Central Florida) but even if its farther than that, i'll take a look :) I don't want to give these pups up! :) I know the chances of finding a place are low.. very low. I don't want to give them up though because I know how misunderstood the breed is and I don't want them ending up in the shelter in the long run and well, you know, euthanized because of the combination of their breed name (stupid media) and because of lack of space in shelter. I love them very much. My 5 year old pit, Sasha, was abused before I got her. So she's afraid when she meets new people. She doesn't bark or growl though. She runs to another run, slowly comes back to meet the new person/people and them wants to be petted all day. It takes her all of 3 minutes to get used to people. She's is great with kids too. My 10 month old pitbull is actually believed to be half Labrador because of her webbed feet. She has the face of a pitbull though which scares people away I guess. She knows sit, down, shake and speak and she's very playful and sweet. She knows all these commands before I got her at 9 months. The previous owner wanted to send her to the shelter for the simple reason that she started her heat cycle (got her first period, in other words) so he didn't want to deal with the stains (I personally think he should have bought her a dog diaper like I did or spayed her, like I did when it was over. It shows how little patience he had >:[ ) Anyway, she lived around 5 kids and gets along with my 8 year old godbrother so she is good with kids too :) I know that it will be very hard to find an apartment but I know there must be a landlord SOMEWHERE OUT THERE that knows pitbulls and their past and how they are not as harmful as the media says. I won't get into that though. My babies are sweethearts and have never bitten anyone. They love people. Please.. if you know anyone. Tell me... help. I currently live with my mother who wants to get rid of the 10 month old. I'd rather move out than do that. I graduate with my bachelor's in Business, specifically Finance next year so my situation will be better than and i'll have more options then. In the meantime, I have to deal with the threat of losing my young one, Daisy. She has a hart symbol on her side.. it's cute :) Please help me!!!! This is them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nm1biP3KC2I http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HvkBg546Y4M And she wants to get rid of her because she is energetic (she's 10 months old so of course she is) and my mom is very, very delicate. Not sure why... she can't take her tail wacking her leg.. I can. Little things like that. I'm a bit tougher than that and i'm only 4'9 and 110 lbs lol =/ Based on previous suggestions, i'll even consider a small house with a private landlord :) moreResolved Question: Need help on this Precalc cp question. Help would be greatly appreciated.?
Okay, I really prefer not to ask for help, but I really need it. Between all of my other class work, I'm feeling very frazzled at the moment. I really can't for the life of me figure out how to even start this problem. And it's my last one! So, its a 3 part question, but I'm only asking for help on the first part because I should be able to have an idea on how to finish it afterward. Thank you very much. Your help is greatly appreciated. A real estate office handles an apartment complex with 50 units. When the rent per unit is $580 per month, all 50 units are occupied. However, when the rent is $625 per month , the average number of the occupied units drops to 47. Assume that the relationship between the monthly rent "p" and the demand "x" is linear. (a) Write the equation of the line giving the demand "x" in terms of rent "p". Thanks again! moreResolved Question: She will be living there but shes not on the lease?
My cousin, her friend, and I are moving into an apartment next week. My cousins friends mother owns the building, its right above her work, making her feel like she doesn't have to pay any rent. Well I have been throwing a fit about it since day one because I have to pay 300 a month along with my cousin also paying 300 and her friend lives there free. Finally her friend said she would pay the water and eletric bill, but when we got the lease to sign it her name is not on it. My cousin and I both believe that she needs to be on it since in the lease it says that we are to pay the water and eletric. We haven't signed the lease yet so we are not bound it anything yet. My cousin and I want to have her pay 100 of the rent and then the water..ect, we think its a little more fair. The girl doesnt know about this yet, but she text me yesterday saying that we should all chip in money for food and everything. I work 2 jobs, I am a nanny and a cashier and I go to school so i wont be home much and I eat at my jobs or at school. My cousin currently works one job, but is trying to pick up another. the other girl doesnt work and is starting school in late fall, so she is going to be there all the time. I dont want to sound like a b to her mother, so do you feel like we have every right to ask her to pay some of the rent and the water so we can get her on the lease so she cant just up and leave? I also dont feel like I need to buy food, if i wont be eating there. I am sure every now and then I will have a meal there and I have no problem paying for the food I eat, but getting stuff so she can sit around and eat it is just not right. What do you think? The rent all together is 600. So the mom split it 2 ways making my cousin and I each pay 300 and her daughter paying nothing. I just set up a meeting with the girls mom to go over the lease and ask about getting her daughter put on it. THANKS EVERYONE moreOpen Question: Apartment help and other stuff.?
Okay, so i'm trying to get an apartment. I'm 19 an unemployed. I'm currently seeking employment. I've been going to different location and filling out application. I got 1 application from a clothing store and I've done about 8 more online. After calling every apartment complex in the area, I found the one that met my criteria. The application fee is $25, the security deposit is $300, and the monthly rent is $432. My mom has also agreed to help me for the first month. I plan to get the apartment no later than October. So here are my questions. What other methods can I take to find a job quicker? What are some quick and legal methods to come up with some money? Does anyone have any tips for saving money? Any tips about job hunting & apartment renting? moreOpen Question: Is it possible to negotiate a lower rent payment than the one on my lease?
My girlfriend and I have moved halfway across the country from the East Coast to the Midwest, although this was a planned move neither of us had an opportunity to visit our new place before moving. We knew it was risky, but we rented a place sight unseen based only on a floor plan and conversations with the management company. Now that we've arrived not only do the measurements differ from those we were given (it's about 80 square feet smaller), but a key feature (balcony off the bedroom) quite simply doesn't exist! After being here a week its quite clear that much of the gardening equipment we brought for the balcony will either have to go in storage or be thrown out (we just don't have the space) and we're quite disappointed as the balcony was one thing that set this place apart from some of the others we had spoken to. We originally received the lease as an attachment via email and it although the lease itself doesn't actually include measurements or mention the balcony, both are talked about in the body of the same email that contained the lease. So, even though neither of the two issues (smaller space & no balcony) actually contradict the lease, would we be within our rights to claim that the apartment we are renting is not the one we agreed to rent and either negotiate a lower rent payment or break the lease without penalty (although this would not be a reasonable option to us...finding the time and money to move all our furniture a second time)?-Unfortunately, no walk through with the landlord was available when we moved in. The office was staffed with 2 19-year old looking girls who handed us our keys and shooed us away. They were flummoxed when asked about the balcony. It was the weekend after all and nobody with any authority was there to for them to pass the issue on to (my emails to the management office are still unanswered by the way) -As far as the measurement goes, my fault completely for not going over them when we got there. Didn't even think of it until six days later when the furniture arrived and we had to ship a bureau back because it didn't fit against a wall that should have been three feet wider. -Lastly, I of course don't actually expect to make any headway with the management company, but I'm not a lawyer (nor will I pay one to answer these questions) so I figured it couldn't hurt to ask. moreOpen Question: apartments based on income in atlanta ga.?
okay i'm planning on moving to atlanta ga very soon, but there's only one problem, i don't have any where to live. i just turned 18 and i was wondering if there are any low income or ( based on income) apartments there that rent to 18 year olds? please and thanks! Also i plan on attending CAU but don't want to stay on campus so anywhere close to their campus is even better. Thanks again.thanks to both of you, i really never considered neither one of those.! moreOpen Question: how much is it going to cost me monthly to live in my apartment?
My boyfriend and I are moving into an apartment on the 10th of next month. Luckly, we only have to pay HALF of a monthly cost of $1100.00 rent for a 1400 SQFT place with 2 bedrooms and 2 floors. So he will be paying 550.00 a month and told me that since I will be living there too.. I will pay for the utilities and groceries and he will pay the 550.00. I make 1600.00 a month.. so 400.00 a week. After paying for the groceries, gas, cable, my car insurance which is 122.00 a month, my cell phone, 30.00 a month and electric... Does anyone know what an average will be so I can get an idea?? Water. sewage and trash removal are included @ this apartment. Thanks! moreOpen Question: Monthly expenses on a rental in Amsterdam?
Hello, I am looking to rent an apartment in Amsterdam. I was wondering what was the average cost of the service charges for a 2 bedroom apartment? All the ads talk about exclusive monthly rents, so I would like to know how much that would be with service charges. Thank you. moreOpen Question: Is a Management Company able to force tenants to stay/pay beyond end of lease?
My roommate and I have a lease that ends 8/31/10. We gave notice (in writing) that we would be leaving the apartment in early July, as required by the management company. A job opportunity for one of us came up very close the the apartment, and we verbally asked if it might be possible to stay in our apartment longer. After a week, the management company got back to us saying that they had switched the people who had originally rented our apartment into another vacant apartment. My roommate and I talked about it and decided we don't want to stay for another 12-month lease, but when we told the management company the next day, they are requiring us to stay for the month of September, saying we need to give at least one month's notice because of the switch they did for us. Do we really have to stay? To me, we asked about a possibility, but we never said we were definitely going to stay in the apartment even if it was possible. Also, we gave our notice back in July, without putting anything else in writing since. Anyone able to shed any light before we have to pay another month's rent?! moreOpen Question: Renting without a contract?
I started renting a room in an apartment of college students last month with no written contract. Communicating with the landlord was a pain in itself because he wasn't offering much information for me. Turns out, my job is relocating and I am having to move in two weeks after only being there a month. I have already paid next month's rent in advance. Can I get this money back? This is in OhioI paid with check to a middle man which is a pastor friend of mine. He said he would talk to the land lord but other than that he couldnt give me details. The payment does not go to the land lord till the first of the month, but since we work with a middle man, the payment to him is due the 15th of the month. So he has the money, but it has not been given to the land lord. On the check, i wrote that the check was for the month of sept moreOpen Question: What are the fees to sell my home?
Ok, so my finacee and I dug ourselves in a hole. We had the money and the jobs and bought a condo last October. We got the Obama $8k rebate and everything. But now we are going through some life changes. He wants to quit his job because it is VERY stressful and puts a strain on both of us. He wants to go back to school for a difference career and has been putting it off for years, to give us a good standard of life and help build up our savings before and after the condo purchase. Now we are stuck with a $3400/month payment (including HOA, taxes, and whatnot). This is over double of what a rental apartment would cost. We love our condo and being homeowners but now realize it was a huge mistake to buy. Renting an apartment would be much easier for us right now, especially if we will be living on 1 or 1 1/2 incomes coming up soon. We would even be able to save if we moved. Selling the condo is just option #1. We could also rent out the place for part of the payment or scrape and figure out how to stay there... somehow. So my question right now is: What are all the fees that come along with selling our condo. We've almost owner it for a year. And we already know we'll have to pay back that $8k. Thanks.Forgot to mention that I live on the California coast... where home prices are astronomical!! And that my fiancee's mom is a real estate agent, cutting down those fees. moreOpen Question: I have seen four cockroaches is 4 weeks. Is my apartment infected?
I have just moved into a "luxury" apartment which I rent. The rent i very high so I expect there to be very little wrong with the apartment. However after one week of moving in I found a cockroach in one of my kitchen cabinets. I killed it and then a week later saw another one crawling along my bathroom floor. Then yesterday I saw two of the horrible creatures crawling along the bathroom floor too. I've yet to see any in the bathrooom, drawing room or lounge but it' still unacceptable. Thing is I'm on the top level of my apartment block which is many many feet up so I do find it strange how they have got up. The apartment is spotless clean but obviously cockroaches can find just about anything to eat. What I wonder is if I've spotted a few already does that mean there's a large number hiding away? I can't even have a relaxing bath or hygienically store my plates ad cutlery away!I meant bedroom not bathroom where I've not seen them! moreOpen Question: Moving into an apartment in January for college?
I am moving 2 hours away from my hometown to go to college. I have never lived away from my mom so this will be my first apartment. I will live in a 1 bedroom with my boyfriend. I live in an apartment and pay high rent and realized I could be paying a house payment, but I don't have a down payment. I need some help with the down payment or any government grant. moreOpen Question: My apartment complex will only let me give 30 day notice on the 1st and the15th. Can they do that?
I didn't realize that my lease was only for 11 1/2 months because I moved in the middle of the month. When i called to ask about it, my leasing agent told me that she would just rewrite the lease and make it through the end of Sept. I thought that was cool of her since my lease would be up in less than 2 months. She called me back and told me I had until August 20th to come and sign my redone lease. I called on the 16th to see if she was in and apparently there is completely new management. They said they wouldn't be able to do it and I don't think they really believed me. I told them that I was just going to bring in my 30 days notice. They told me that I can only put notice in on the 1st and 15th. My rent goes up substantially next month because it will be month to month. I am not sure what I can do. Any help would be great. I live in Nebraska by the way! Thanks for all your answers. I guess I am just upset because I would have put my notice in on the 15th had their management not told me they would rewrite my lease. moreOpen Question: Month to Month Rental Termination?
My brother lives in Louisiana , and is renting an apartment on a month to month basis. He gave a 2 week notice because he is being stalked by a very strange person. He feels that his life may be in danger, because the apartments have no real security gate, or guard or anything. Now the apartment manager is telling him he has to pay 500 dollars because he is only giving a 2 week notice. He has never been late on his rent and really feels it is best for him to get out as fast as possible. Your thoughts would be appreciated. moreOpen Question: Will I lose out on my last month's rent if I move?
My husband and I signed a one-year lease on our apartment about 14 months ago and paid first and last month's rent. We just recently found another place we are interested in. The new place is available September 1st. We've already paid for August's rent at our current place. If we move, do we lose out on the last month's rent that we paid when we moved in? The place we're in right now is our first place, so we're not too sure how this kind of thing works. Thanks for any advice =)Our rent is due on the first of every month. moreOpen Question: legal number of times landlady can enter/exhibit the apartment per week?
I let my landlady know that I will be moving out in two months. 2 days later, she began showing the apartment for 2-4 hours every other day. However, recently, she sent me a notice that she will basically have open house everyday. The last notice was for Wednesday - Saturday. Although I understand that this needs to be done in order for her to rent the unit out; it is a little inconvenient because she leaves the windows open after she comes in and I have to try to not be home every weekend for a number of hours. I'm wondering if there is a number of days/times a week that she may show the apartment if anyone has information or can direct me to a webpage for California tenants. Thanks! moreOpen Question: Roommate/Boyfriend situation?
I live in a 2 bedroom apartment with my roommate. My boyfriend has recently started staying over and we are looking for a new place to live. We are hoping to move out in the next month. He does not eat my roommate's food, he stays in my room while he is here, and does not use the common areas. He is not here when I am not here. My roommate has recently threatened legal action and even to have his car towed. We rent from another person. Our apartment complex does not have assigned parking spaces. I have looked at the lease, which does not state a rule regarding guests. It merely states that the tenants are responsible for their guests. I am curious as to what others think about this situation, and whether or not my roommate has a legal case. moreOpen Question: Financial aid??????????

Are there any tips to raise it?
I'm 24 year old. I had two student loans go bad, a $300 credit card bill I didn't pay, a hospital bill I didn't pay, and a old blockbuster video I didn't return. All of these happened when I was 19 or 20. I've since pulled my loans out of collections and paid off my hospital, credit card, and blockbuster bill. I'm much more responsible now. I paid $4000 cash for a truck I bought from my father and I lived in an apartment for the last two years and never missed rent. I've also never been late on any utility bills. The only problem is none of these things are going on my credit report. I'm sure if i didn't pay them they would, but nothing for paying on time. I know it will take a few more years before the negative items are removed, but I was wondering if there were any tips on raising my score now. I've heard of getting a secured credit card from a local credit union. Would this be a good idea? Also when I turn 25 next year I plan on buying a new car. I would like to have my score up as much as possible so I wouldn't have to pay an absurd interest rate. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. moreOpen Question: How is the economy in Winter Park, FL / Orlando area?

Is it possible to run a "daycare" service out of my apartment that I rent(if I were to become licensed)? Or must I be in a home(house) or actually have a daycare facility? I only intend to be responsible for 1 or 2 toddlers on a part-time, yet regular basis. So, that I could bring in some more income. I am asking because I am trying to come up with ideas for a legitimate home business so that I can start working towards something. Thanks for any insight! moreOpen Question: What are the laws on living alone as a minor?

HELP!! :(?
I was wondering how should i go about getting an apartment? Like what would i have to, the steps, the process? I know having a job is obvious, but are there other ways to get an apartment, like maybe student loans, or financial aid money left over after school and everything is paid for? I was wondering if its even possible to survive off minimum wage between two people trying to live in a apartment? I was thinking student housing would be GREAT, but the thing is that i plan on attending a community college, and then transferring over to an Columbia College or one of the many other art schools i got accepted too. However community colleges DONT offer dorms. Is it possible to get student housing, even if the school im attending doesnt offer it? just wondering if student housing should apply to me because i am a college student? Which one is cheaper, and if so how should i go about getting student housing for me and another person? P.S. i dont want to live in some really bad neighborhood, just because rent is cheap something ranging from like at least 600 maybe 800 moreOpen Question: MTV "Teen Mom" ..how are they survivng with min. wage part-time jobs?
On the newest episodes, Amber works part time at a tanning bed while her boyfriend Gary is unemployed.. Farrah claims she is paying all on her own bills (except free child care), but she works at some pizza place??? How in the world are these girls surviving financially, let alone paying rent on an apartment with crappy part-time jobs??? I'm thinking they're getting fat paychecks from MTV and giving the wrong impression. No one would survive on their own with those kinds of jobs! moreOpen Question: Is my brother a bully or some kind of mild sociopath?
My brother is now 29 and I am 25. I love him more than anything and since we were kids always stood up for him, was loving, giving, etc. If kids bothered him I put them in their place. Him on the other hand, although I am sure he loves me would let them push me around, make fun of me, and even join in sometimes. I don't know if he did this to fit in. He also had some behavior problems when he was younger, tried to fit in, then in college lied to my parents about having finished his degree and he had not, meanwhile they were paying tons of $$$. He finally finished though. As adults the relationship can be from seeming to others that we are best friends, because we go out with groups of friends, seem close, but he does things like bully me, if we have the slightest disagreement he throws me out of his apartment, is stingy, and says mean things in front of his fiancee to me to the point where I am embarassed even for him. My parents are letting him live rent free in their 2nd floor to help him save money but as soon as he gets a place they want to help me in the same way, being that the economic times are tough. He says that he wants to use that same apartment to collect rent for himself (something that would help my parents and me, with their retirement years my med school loans etc). When we told him that it is unfair and that both children should be treated equally he told me, "it's not my problem, you go on welfare if you can't make it in life." My parents send him to an expensive college, bought him his first car, helped him do construction on the apartment and he shows no appreciation. He just yells at us, leeches off of us, uses both our cars so he doesn't have to take his precious sports car and put miles on it, but does not help with the bills at home at all. We have to beg him. I want to know if their could be a problem or if he is just a bully? moreOpen Question: Apartment and a Boxer?
I have a 1 bed, 1 bath apartment. Looking for a house I could rent instead, but for the timing being I live in an apartment. I have my heart set on a beautiful boxer thaty I currently have on hold at a shelter. He's fixed, which is great! And is used to apartments. I live on the bottom floor, but I have no yard I can allow him to freely. 7-8 hours shifts, we'd go biking together. I have a huge kennel set up in my place, if needed. So, would this dog be ok living with me, and please just give your thoughts. But don't be rude about it.Richard: Awe man. That's to bad! I would be so mad! i never understood why when i had an apartment my rent was due on the 5th but the check i was submitting didnt process until a day or two sometimes up til a week later. now i know alot of it had to do with the bookkeepers not doing their jobs but they are quick to place a deliquency notice on your door or in your mailbox. how long does it take before a check registers/processes and your rent payment is taken out of your bank account anyway? happy i dont have these questions anymore with my house. thanks guys. moreOpen Question: how much can they garnish from my wages from an eviction?
A little back story. Since some people will think Im a lowlife and to you I say EFF YOU! Anyways... to the actual people reading that will help me out I appreciate it!... So Our lease was up the middle of August. I was a little late in July rent and was told since I was never late and always paid on time or early it was ok and no late fee would be charged. So on July 6th we received an eviction notice. I called the place and they said that since I didnt pay they would go through the eviction process. I explained that we had a "deal" and Id be paying that following firday the 9th. She said she didnt know what I was talking about and there would be a $175 fee. I explained taht I wouldnt be paying that and I was told by the other manager (now on vacation) I didnt have to pay a late fee due to the fact I had never been late ever. Again got no where. So then I said FINE our lease is up soon well just move early. I asked how the eviction process worked and she said Id be receiving a letter from their attorneys and I could either dipute it and go to court OR set up payment arrangements. I NEVER said I wouldnt be paying it. I just planned on setting up payment arrangements and wed go on our way living in a better apartment. yeah dont listen to apartment complexes.... Now im due in court TODAY at 2pm. And they will probably garnish my wages. So now that the long back story is out of the way... How much can they garnish from my wages? Is there a certain percentage or do they just take it all right away? thanks for the HELPFUL people that answer :) moreOpen Question: How much can they garnish from my paycheck from an eviction?

I am in the market to rent a flat/apartment. How long will it take from agreeing with a landlord to being a tenant to actually being allowed to move in? How long does the reference, background check etc. take to process? moreOpen Question: Groom scared to attend wedding because his parents won't come?
God-willing, I am getting married in less than 2 months. My fiance's parents are refusing to attend the wedding and are saying they will not even speak to their son again if he goes through with this. They like me, but they don't like the timing of the wedding, among some other things. (It's just too much to get into here.) Basically, my parents and I (and my fiance has said this as well) believe that his parents will never be happy with anything. His parents' own marriage is troubled, and their own financial situation is down the toilet. They are constantly changing their minds. Sometimes they say, "You should both go to grad school first." Other times they say, "You should both have more stable jobs." Lately it's been, "You are NOT living in a basement apartment - or even a regular apartment where you pay rent. You should buy an apartment, take out a mortgage and work your way until you own it. Not some time in the future after you get married. As soon as you get married! Otherwise, you shouldn't be getting married." They are pulling all these conditions out of their behinds left and right. The trouble is, lately my fiance is getting very nervous and sad. He loves his parents so much, and he feels he owes them. He is starting to feel like if he goes through with this wedding, he will be betraying the people who raised him. He is thinking about backing out. I am so distraught. I've already tried telling him, as gently as I could, that it's not him betraying them, it's them betraying him. But it's not working. It's too painful for him. He doesn't want to end our relationship at all - just move the date till a time when his parents approve - but they never will! Besides, if he backs out, we lose all the money we payed so far in booking the place, invitations, the dj, etc. Help me, please!!! moreOpen Question: Where to purchase cheap furniture in Liverpool?
I'm moving to the Liverpool area from Vancouver, Canada at the end of this month, and I will be on a bit of a budget. I'm hoping I can find a part-furnished or even fully-furnished apartment to rent, but if I'm unable to, what are some good stores for buying inexpensive furniture and household goods? Also, are there many used goods websites? The only one I'm aware of is www.gumtree.com. Any answers are appreciated, thank you very much! :) moreOpen Question: Costs of living in Seattle / would this be possible?
I'm 16 years old currently attending my last year of high school. I have been in a long distance relationship for the past 2 years. I just spent the whole summer down in Texas with him. I live in Canada. When I graduate I am going to a culinary school in Seattle that is going to cost me 21 thousand and I am not sure if my college fund will work outside of Canada. Anyways, me and my boyfriend are looking into apartments in Seattle because he's going to transfer colleges over there. If we are both working part time while going to College, do you think this would be possible on our own? He doesn't have any support from his parents but I do, so I know if I was a little behind on rent they would back me up, but I don't really want to lean on them like that. I don't know the costs of anything in Seattle so I was wondering if anyone from Seattle could tell me how expensive it might be for food and possibly having a bus pass or something. It would be really appreciated, Thanks. moreOpen Question: Should I disown my sister?
I am 27/m. my sister is 23. I am gay, and my sister and family know about it, and its not a big deal. My parents pay for her tuition and rent for an apartment where she attends college. Throughout our childhoods, my parents always had a double standard in dealing with us. For example. if she did something wrong, she would get yelled at a little and nothing more. If I did something wrong, i'd practically be screamed at for a half hour, grounded, or hit. Whenever me and my sister got into arguments. she would win by default because my dad would intervene and tell me stuff like "shut your stupid f'in mouth". "lower your dumb voice", etc.. etc.... meanwhile she would be yelling just as loud as me, but nothing said to her (well rarely). I got laid off from a good job a few months ago and i'm living at home, and she is home for the summer. I try daily to be nice to her and she just yells at me to leave her alone. she contributes nothing. she lays on the couch, controls the TV, doesnt even clean up her laundry in the bathroom, or her food garbage on the coffee table. and again, she's rude to me on top of it, in spite of my kindness efforts to her. I am beginning to lose my love for her. She is really good at exhausting it. getting back to the point i made in the beginning..we had a little argument (over her laziness), and seeing she had no other card to play, she played the gay card on me and said something about my orientation. I'm starting to see her as a spoiled ingrate and she is of no use to me in life, only an obstacle and a nuisance. she is dating this guy my age, and she doesnt dare talk to him the way she talks to me. my friends say i should get over it because she is my sister, but on that same token. arent I her brother? shouldnt she treat me with at least a c*** hair of respect? i really dont know that i want anything to do with her in the future. does anyone empathize with me? any non-cliche suggestions or advice?and for your information Ansolobo and bad girl. i got LAID OFF a few months ago, and i do pay bills...been paying them for a while too! so dont tell me to "start paying bills" I am looking for a job too. and are you telling me to get a boyfriend so i can get out of my house? I'm so happy that i am not a naive youngster who would take your advice, because you seem to give it bad. start reading into these questions more instead of jumping to ignorant conclusions. moreMore Rent In Apartment Results
